A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of working with the Siakel's. They welcomed two beautiful baby girls, who happen to be fraternal twins, into the world a few weeks back. Those two little girls introduced me to the fine art of photographing twins, which is an amazing experience... and somewhat difficult. It's hard enough to get one baby to cooperate, but two? And who am I? I'm just a lousy photographer, not a mommy or daddy trying to feed two precious babies in the middle of the night. Mr. and Mrs. S seem to be the perfect pair to raise these two munchkins. They were calm, loving and warm. Heck, I could have hung out with them all day... So, here is a taste of what came out of that muggy Saturday morning shoot. Enjoy!
A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of photographing some old pals from high school. In fact, Alesia and I spent our senior year spring break together in Hilton Head with a group of girls. Boy has time changed. Say goodbye to the days of pretending to love Mike's Hard Lemonade and trying remarkably hard to relate to the song "Scrubs" and...well, hello mommy-hood! The ever-blessed couple will be welcoming not one, not two, but three little boys into this world late spring. Alesia looks ridiculously fabulous, seems so calm and these two could not be more in love. I wish them all the best as this journey unfolds... oh and, can't wait to photograph those three little beauties when the world welcomes them come May.
Two weekends ago I had the pleasure of working with a family that I have a lot of history with. I've known the father of the brand new baby Anthony for longer than I can even remember. Our parents have been best friends since back in their high school days and I grew up alongside this family. We went boating almost every single weekend in the summers, shared memories at the cottage, birthdays, Boblo Island and more. Now Brian is a dad and I can hardly believe how time flies. Anthony is a beautiful addition to the family and I had such a lovely Saturday morning with him. Enjoy a preview of our photo shoot:
Saturday's photography gig was all for the lovely and charming, Amy and Ryan. They had their ceremony and reception at the Lafayette Grande in Pontiac, MI. It's a really interesting venue, so many cool photo ops in and around the facility. The building's original purpose was as a Masonic Temple, and it's steeped in tradition. Only if those walls could talk. Any ways, I spent the beginning of the day with the boys (or, eh em, men - sorry guys) and they were a riot. It was pretty easy to detect the closeness of the groomsmen, they seemed like a group of really old friends. I can't fail to mention their sense of humor - right up my alley. After the guys were dismissed to the martini lounge, I found my way up to the ladies. Amy was absolutely beautiful (obviously, look at the pics). Her girls all wore deep navy blue dresses of various styles and the most fun shoes I have ever seen bridesmaids wear. Overall, the wedding was very cool. Is it cliche to call a wedding "cool?" I think not. Many weddings are classic or traditional - but this one, was just, cool. Cool people, cool venue and cool details. Check out the teaser pics, many more to come...
