Alex turns 1

A few weekends ago I was fortunate to work with one of my coming bride's sisters and her cute family. Their son Alex turned one a month ago and they wanted some professional pics of him for his birthday thank you cards. I had such a good time hanging out with Alex and his parents. I tend to revert back to my childhood when surrounded by toys, which I love. Alex is an adorable kid with some of the most amazing eyes I have ever seen, pretty cool personality too. I had the opportunity to get on the floor and play with Alex for a bit to get him used to me and then the photos started. What a kid!

WHAT a summer!

It has been the busiest summer thus far for my photography business. I can't begin to thank those of you who were pushing my services on theknot.com and weddingwire.com, it's much appreciated. One of the best parts of my summer was shooting a number of weddings with my brother Paul. He started a videography business and has gotten really, really good at shooting weddings in a artistic, documentary style with an incredible eye for dynamic lighting and composition. The dude has become one hell of a cinematographer and that means you get more than just video, you get style. I don't want to fail to mention that we work incredibly well together.

With wedding season winding down, I have just one wish: to photograph more babies and pregnant women. Weddings are wonderful events but I would love the opportunity to work with infants. With that being said, I am offering a deal to ALL of my brides. If I shot your wedding, I will shoot either your pregnancy or infant for 25% off.

Are you selling your home? Have you ever looked at the horrible images online often taken by a realtor? Why not pay a little loot to have some professional images taken? If you want beautiful, wide-angle and naturally lit shots of your home, do not hesitate to contact me for a quote (based on rooms, not hours), it will pay off!

Steve and Erin

On what seemed like the coldest day of the year, Erin, Steve and myself braved the bite and met on Belle Isle for their engagement photos. I went to the same elementary school as Erin and it's always the best to be working with someone you are tied to in one way or another. They are such a fun couple, constantly smiling and extremely comfortable. Being incredibly photogenic doesn't hurt either. Erin and Steve are getting married this summer at the same church my husband and I did, I can't wait to go back. If you see me holding back a quick giggle at the church, know that it is me thinking about when our priest referred to my husband (Alex) as Kevin during the ceremony. Can't wait for August!

Cass and Ashley

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Cass and Ashley's beautiful, winter wedding at the Brooke Lodge in Augusta, Michigan. There were snow showers throughout the afternoon and evening which made for breathtaking scenery. The evergreens that covered the property were dressed in Christmas lights, creating a brilliant effect in many of the photos. Ashley's dress was princess-like and she wore a snow white, rabbit fur wrapped around her shoulders for warmth and style. She looked absolutely stunning. I had a great time working with this wonderful couple and am confident they will have a long and lovely life together.

Betsy and Chris

This past weekend I spent one of the most glorious afternoons with my clients, Becky and Chris. The weather was absolute perfection! I did, however, keep calling Betsy "Becky" and am so impressed and glad that she called me out. I love when people are straight shooters. Betsy and Chris seem like such a lovely, mild mannered couple that are completely in love. Her is a sample of images from that afternoon, keep an eye on my website for more; this is going to be such a wonderful couple to work with in July, I can't wait.

Mike and Lauren

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting Mike and Lauren's wedding. I've known Lauren since kindergarten and it was wonderful being able to share in their day with them. They had a beautiful, traditional ceremony at a church in Grosse Pointe followed by a reception at the Grosse Pointe Farms Pier Park. I love fall weddings and their decorations and colors emulated that warm, autumn feeling. I had a great time with both of their friends and families and wish them nothing but the best!
