Saturday's photography gig was all for the lovely and charming, Amy and Ryan. They had their ceremony and reception at the Lafayette Grande in Pontiac, MI. It's a really interesting venue, so many cool photo ops in and around the facility. The building's original purpose was as a Masonic Temple, and it's steeped in tradition. Only if those walls could talk. Any ways, I spent the beginning of the day with the boys (or, eh em, men - sorry guys) and they were a riot. It was pretty easy to detect the closeness of the groomsmen, they seemed like a group of really old friends. I can't fail to mention their sense of humor - right up my alley. After the guys were dismissed to the martini lounge, I found my way up to the ladies. Amy was absolutely beautiful (obviously, look at the pics). Her girls all wore deep navy blue dresses of various styles and the most fun shoes I have ever seen bridesmaids wear. Overall, the wedding was very cool. Is it cliche to call a wedding "cool?" I think not. Many weddings are classic or traditional - but this one, was just, cool. Cool people, cool venue and cool details. Check out the teaser pics, many more to come...

YUM-O
What a cool photo job I had the pleasure of working on a few weeks ago. I have not shot food since I was a junior at CCS. It's funny, I absolutely hated working in the studio in college but, I'm now really starting to appreciate it. We only shot a couple of plates and are planning on another round in a couple of weeks with desserts. What a riot.

Mister Grayson
My beautiful godson mister Grayson, born on March 18. His poor mother, and a dear, old friend of mine, was in pre-labor FOREVER. They had to do everything to keep this little booger in the oven. Luckily, once he was born, he was as healthy as could be and pretty darn cute. Naturally, I took the opportunity to photograph him a few weeks after his early birth. He was and is so good, hardly ever cries and... didn't pee on me. Which, in the world of infant photography, is a miracle. I will be charting his growth over the next year, stay tuned!

Introducing the Selaks
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Margaret and David Selak. It was a unique day wedding followed by brunch, which was really nice. Unfortunately the weather was less than favorable, but we made the best of it. Luckily, I have a large collection of umbrellas for days like theirs. Believe me, just because it's raining it doesn't mean we can't get some beautiful photographs. It does however, require me to work really fast and expose my poor equipment to the elements. Though in the end, I think it was well worth it. I wonder if Margaret feels the same way about her shoes and dress getting just less than destroyed by the rain and goose poop? She was a real trooper and was willing to sacrifice in order to make lasting memories and for that, I loved working with them. Congrats to the new couple!

Miss Chloe
Yesterday I got to spend a couple of hours with a former bride of mine and her absolutely stunning daughter Chloe. Jackie is Chloe's lucky mom and they were so much fun to work with. Lucky for me, Jackie has a vision; photographers love people with vision! We had an absolute ball dressing miss Chloe up and getting some really cute 6 month old photos (I know, I know, I am biased.) This little girl is not only gorgeous, she has a killer personality too!
